JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Village Treasurer
The Village of Walthill, Nebraska, is accepting applications for the position of a Village Treasurer. This position is responsible for filing and processing of the budget; acts as a custodian for all Village funds; supervises the maintenance of the accounting records of the Village; supervises the checking and verification of invoices, warrants and expenditures; and performs other duties as may be required by law and Village ordinance.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and proven experience in accounting procedures and methods including computerization. Good oral and written communication skills required to effectively communicate on a daily basis with elected and appointed officials, Village employees and the public; high degree of organization skills required to effectively administer Village programs, i.e. budget process, etc.; excellent knowledge of basic and computerized accounting principles; ability to learn and interpret rules, regulations, laws and ordinances affecting municipal financial transactions; good supervisory skills; ability to be bonded; and ability to complete annual continuing education programs as required by law. Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office, internet/web and data entry; ability to carry out arithmetic procedures. Good customer service.
Compensation: Salary is based on qualifications.
